ABOUT DR. ZAKHARY
Dr. Mariam Zakhary is a family physician practising in Oakville, Ontario, with more than 20 years of experience in Canada. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Université Laval in Quebec and is certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Dr. Zakhary provides comprehensive, patient-centred care, with particular interests in pediatric care, women’s health, geriatric medicine, and end-of-life care. She is committed to compassionate, personalized care and to building long-term relationships with patients and their families.
Passionate about medical education, Dr. Zakhary teaches and mentors undergraduate medical students and family medicine residents. She is affiliated with medical education programs at McMaster University and the University of Toronto. She speaks English, Arabic, French and has a working knowledge of Spanish.

After-Hours Care
For after-hours care Monday through Friday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on weekends please use The Regional Virtual Urgent Care Program.
The Regional Virtual Urgent Care Program is available to residents of the Central Region of Ontario who require timely access to a nurse practitioner for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions that can be addressed virtually. The virtual care clinic is open seven days a week from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., including holidays.

Clinic Policies
Prescription Renewals
Prescription renewal requests received by fax directly from the pharmacy, when the patient has not booked a medical appointment, are not covered by OHIP.
To avoid delays, please book an appointment to review and renew your prescriptions before your medication runs out. We kindly ask that you avoid last-minute or same-day requests for routine prescription renewals.
A $20 fee may apply to urgent prescription refill requests handled outside a scheduled appointment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain timely and efficient care for all our patients.
Appointment Cancellations and Missed Appointments
· Cancellations: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel an appointment. This allows the appointment time to be offered to another patient.
· Missed appointments: Missing more than one appointment without notice may result in a fee of $30–$60, depending on the appointment type.
